How it works

Enter 4–6 swimmers using the same leg distance and course. Blank times mean unavailable. Every swimmer can swim only one leg; order is back, breast, fly, free. The three fastest distinct assignments are shown. Totals add entered times without takeover corrections.

Enter comparable leg times

Choose the course and a 50 or 100 distance for each leg. Add four to six swimmers, then enter their available times for backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Leave a stroke blank when a swimmer should not be considered for it. Use times over the selected leg distance and in the same course.

Example: adding four leg times

A lineup with backstroke in 32 seconds, breaststroke in 39, butterfly in 31 and freestyle in 29 totals 2:11. Each leg must belong to a different swimmer. A swimmer who is quickest in two strokes cannot fill both positions, which is why the fastest valid team may differ from simply picking the best time in each column.

Compare the returned lineups

The tool searches valid assignments and shows up to three with the lowest combined time. Adding a fifth or sixth swimmer gives it more alternatives without increasing the number of legs. The total is a sum of entered times; it does not apply reaction-time or takeover adjustments. It also does not check meet eligibility, age groups or mixed-team requirements, so review those separately before choosing a competition lineup.
